I am working with a highly regarded, employee-owned environmental consultancy that is looking to appoint an EIA Consultant to join their growing Cardiff team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop technically, take on early project responsibility, and genuinely see the impact of their work within a supportive and collaborative environment.

This is a business that invests heavily in its people, offering clear progression routes, structured pay scales, and profit-sharing opportunities through employee ownership.

The Role

You will support the delivery of Environmental Impact Assessments for major infrastructure projects, including renewables and transport, with a particular focus on the water environment.

Your role will combine technical delivery, fieldwork, and client interaction, giving you exposure across the full project lifecycle.

In your first year, you will:

  • Prepare hydrology, hydrogeology, and wider water environment EIA chapters
  • Use GIS, CAD, and Excel to analyse data and produce high-quality reports
  • Undertake site visits and contribute to health and safety processes
  • Support and manage small-scale projects and proposals (up to £10k)
  • Work towards professional chartership with structured support

About You

  • Degree (2:1 or above) in an environmental or numerate discipline
  • Minimum 2 years' experience writing EIA chapters (essential)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-organised, proactive, and confident working within project teams
  • Postgraduate qualification desirable but not essential

What is on Offer

  • 40+ days holiday (with buy/sell options)
  • Employee ownership with profit-share and tax-free bonuses
  • Matched pension contributions (5-10%)
  • Structured chartership support and 5 days dedicated training annually
  • Flexible and supportive working arrangements
  • Health plan, Cycle to Work scheme, and annual Environment Day

This is a strong opportunity for an EIA professional looking to step into a role with real progression, variety, and long-term reward within an organisation that values its people and their development.
